Two candidates of The Humane Party participate in the American elections
Two members of the American Party for the Animals, The Humane Party, will participate in the upcoming elections in America on 6 November. They are supported by all 18 of their sister parties across the world.
Humane Party candidates Clifton Roberts and Robert Mason
In 2015, the Humane Party participated in the elections for the first time, with Clifton Roberts as its presidential candidate and Dr. Amie “Breeze” Harper its Vice-President candidate. This meant that for the first time in the history of the world, a completely vegan duo participated in the Presidential elections.
On 6 November, Roberts will join the elections once more, this time the senatorial elections, from the State of California. On the same day, the Members of the House of Representatives will be elected, and Humane Party member Robert Mason will participate in Texas.
Both Mason and Roberts are concerned with increasing the role of science, compassion and social justice in politics. They focus on the abolition of livestock farming, which does not only harm animals, but also the environment and climate. Roberts: “You cannot discuss climate change without discussing the livestock sector.”
In November, all 435 members of the U.S. House of Representatives will be elected, along with one third of the members of the U.S. Senate.
